About RetroToonTV

RetroToonTV is a free streaming channel dedicated to classic animation from the golden age of cartoons. Instead of an endless menu of thumbnails, RetroToonTV works the way television used to: programs air on a schedule, you tune in, and whatever's on is on. Flip through the guide, pick a channel, and watch — no account, no sign-up, no algorithm.

The cartoons

Current programming is drawn from classic-era animation — theatrical shorts and features from roughly the 1930s through the 1960s, the era of hand-painted cels, orchestral scores, and seven-minute gags. RTTV is built around properly cleared programming: works air because they are in the public domain or because we have the rights to present them, and the lineup will grow as licensing relationships do. You can browse every film in rotation in our show catalog.

Why a schedule?

Half the fun of Saturday-morning cartoons was the ritual: knowing when your show came on, catching the tail end of something you'd never pick yourself, and the channel-surf between them. On-demand menus are convenient, but they lost that. RetroToonTV brings the linear, lean-back experience to the browser — commercial breaks and all. We've written more about these choices in our articles — from how the channel actually stays on schedule to why there's no algorithm.

Supporting the channel

RetroToonTV is free to watch and supported by advertising shown during breaks, just like broadcast TV. Ads keep the transmitters running.
